The PLK Ripples Of Kindness project aims to create and gift a home made quilt to every child under the care of the Po Leung Kuk (PLK) foundation in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
A group of HK based volunteers was sourced from the popular Sew HK Facebook group, many of which had never quilted before. Volunteers emerged from several parts of the world and this gallery showcases our collective work. The quilts will be delivered to their recipients in December 2023, at the annual Christmas party.
Our gratitude goes to all the volunteers as well as those who donated their time and/or resources to make this project happen:
Gail Deayton, Tarlan Amigh & my son Jack, who helped with the coordination
DeAnna Fernandez O’Reilly, who donated her entire fabric collection
Pui Gardiner, from 852 Fabric, and Janet Johnston for their fabric donation
Simon Castley, from Sew Group International, for the extensive donation of quilt notions to our volunteers
Selina Ko, for her batting donation
All the beginner & experienced quilt makers below
And more! This list will be updated to reflect the incredibly large ripples of kindness created and maintained throughout the project.
